Watching with an stink eye

Injustice in Iran continues.

Young Baha'is are denied higher education.

Professors part of the BIHE (Baha'i Institute for Higher Education) are sentenced as prisoners who "face vague charges of threatening national security for teaching biology, engineering, architecture and other academic disciplines to young Baha’is denied university education because of their religion."
Their lawyer's been arrested too.

And don't forget about the seven Baha'i leaders. "Their crime, though, is nothing more than being members of the Baha’i Faith, a religion which has been the focus of a systematic, government-sponsored persecution in Iran since the 1979 revolution."

We all know there are many other injustices in the world. But, none have ever been so personal, so close to my heart and the hearts of my friends. I wrote about this a year ago [here]. I stand by what I said. We cannot take what we have for granted. Our most basic and simplest rights are privileges in others eyes. Be thankful for where you are, who you are and what you have. It really is as simple as that.

My Babajoon sent me this

An old Italian lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard.. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent,
I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won't be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I'm just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days.
Love ,
Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Don't dig up that garden. That's where the bodies are buried.
Love,
Vinnie

At 4 a.m. the next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Papa,
Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That's the best I could do under the circumstances.
Love you,
Vinnie

Welllllll helloooo. It's been a while hasn't it. My bad.

My eyelids are drooping right now. They sit at a permanent horizontal position and readily swing down and up, yet my eyes are still stingy from the dry az air. And my back is screaming out more than usual and I feel like a mess. I think half of it is due to mental stress about labs, tests, music notes, choir and the sun (it hurts my skin and freaks me out cuz I'm a hypochondriac) and the other half is because I'm really tired.

Ok now that the complaining is over... lezgetdowntobusiness

Choir makes me a softy

Thou Hidden Love of God

Thou hidden love of God whose height,
Whose depth unfathomed no one knows,
I see from afar thy beauteous light,
And inly sigh for thy repose;
My heart is pained nor can I be
At rest until I rest in thee.

'Tis mercy all that thou hast brought
My mind to seek its peace in thee;
Yet while I seek, but find thee not,
No peace my wand'ring soul shall see.

O when shall all my wand'rings end,
And all my steps to theeward tend?

Is there a thing beneath the sun
That strives with thee my heart to share?
Ah, tear it thence and reign alone,
The Lord of ev'ry motion there.
Make me thy duteous child that I
May ceaseless "Abba, Father" cry.

Each moment draw from earth away
My heart that lowly waits thy call;
Speak to my inmost soul and say
"I am thy love, thy God, thy all!"
To feel thy pow'r to hear thy voice,
To taste thy love, be all my choice.

My heart is pained, nor can it be at rest,
Until I rest in thee.

-John Wesley 1703-91
